How to Create a Story and Link it to your Name Page

Steps for creating a story and linking it to your name page:

1. To create a story, you must be logged into the 8th grade site. 
2. In the Editors Only menu (the blue links at the top of the page), click on Stories. 
3. Once you're in the Stories list, scroll down the page until you get to the very bottom.  Click the blue link that says Create A New Story.
4. Give your story a name in the title box, then write the beginning of your text in the text box. 
5. Click the Post New Story button.
6. When the story is posted, go up to the address line and click inside it.  Then copy the address of your new story (ctrol + c). 
7. Now, go to your Name Page on the left nav bar.
8. Click the Edit This Page button.
9. At the bottom of your page, write the title of your new story and highlight it.
10. Click the link button in the tool bar (it looks like a little globe with a chain at the bottom), paste the URL (the address you copied) into the box (ctrl + v), and click OK. 
11. Now, click the Post Changes button for your Name Page. 
12. Click the link you just made, and you'll be ready to edit your new story.
