Strolling along the streets of this wonderful city Orlando, just thinking if I might be in heaven. Everything is so great. Great weather, great beaches, and great theme parks. Florida is a dreamland. Yes, I am doing my report on Florida. It's really great. It has only one thing that is very disappointing. It has NO diversity. Rather than that it is so great. I wonder if there is a place just like it. It is a memorable place. Just visiting there is just wonderful. I just love it there. Everything is perfect about it. Especially the people. Hahaha. I could stay there for life.

How was Florida adopted into the U.S?

Florida was adopted into America in year March 3, 1845. Florida was first owned by the Spanish settlers. The Spanish lost control of it to the British. As time grew on many Spanish came settling in the place. Florida had started to grow, it grew into a great place, but Florida had started doing stuff in America ways. Not Spanish ways.  People started settling in Florida, but it still wasn't offically owned by the U.S. There were Native Americans, Spanish, and Africans. America couldn't take the land. The natives there didn't want to leave their homeland. There was a war already going on there called the Seminole war. The natives were fighting the U.S troops.

Also a leader of the Seminole war was brave. His name was Osceola. The U.S troops respected him. The U.S had to use a lot of resources just to get this state. They still hadn't gotten it. Finally in the year of 1819 Spain had sold Florida to the United States of America.

 

 

Why is it called Florida? Who named it Florida?

In the 1513, Ponce de León was the man who had name Florida. He called the area la Florida, in honor of Pascua florida ("feast of the flowers"). He made this place in America for the Spanish nation. He came to Florida on the northeast coast. He made to trips to Florida. On his second journey he brought many men and many horses. They had tried to destory the natives who were living there. He couldn't complete that task.

 

Why is it good to grow stuff there? What do they grow?

They grow a lot of things in Florida. One reason it is good to grow things is because of its weather. It grows many types of fruits. They grow oranges, grapefruits, and other citrus fruits. They also grow potatoes, melons, strawberries, sugar cane, and peanuts. They also raise cattle. Besides growing stuff, they are a place with a lot of technology. 

How is Florida's weather? Can you die from theirweather?

Florida's weather is very hot. Usually it is sunny and hot. But the weather changes every hour or so. It could be sunny one minute, the next it will start raining. It is very unpredictable what to expect. Florida's winter gets cooler than rest of the year. Many people die because of Florida's weather. They die from heat. Not many die because of the rain and thunder that occurs every once in a while. On the chart below it shows the annual temp. of each city in Florida.

How did it become one of the most popular states?

Florida became one of the most popular states because of its attractions and beaches. Some of the attractions that Florida has are Disneyworld, Sea World, Kennedy Space Center, and etc. Some beaches that they have are  Daytona Beach, Fl. Lauderdale, and more. They also attract people by weather they have there. It is very humid there and it is also very hot there.

Why is Florida not diverse?

Florida is not a very diverse state. It is mainly made up of whites. Roughly more than 65% of it is white. Asians barely have a 1% only close to 2%. And spanish and blacks are both 16% each, of the state. The reason for this is because of the first people to live here. Spanish immigrated from the south of Florida. The black folks settled there from the pass of slavery and other stuff. Asians are really nothing. They just moved there.

So did you learn anything? Did you have fun learning about Florida? Well I know I did. I learned so much about this place, I learned about its culture, its races, it features, and it's beaches. I hope you learned a much as I did. I also hope you feel the same way I do.Maybe be you might wanna visit Florida. Bring me with you if you go. hahahaha. Just kidding.All I know is from this experience is that if you love something do a research on it. You will learn so much about something you love. Trust me on this one.

Sups Today I resumed my I-Search Report in Ms. Turnbull's class. Me and other people aren't allowed in the Lab to resume our I-Search. Anyways besides that. I added question to my revision. I still don't have a reviser o wells. I also tried to edit some of my report and clean up some of my mistakes. I did like 2 paragraphs. I still need more pictures for my report and more info to put about it. I still don't have a interview!!! wells im outs.

Today I didn't do that much. I'm pretty much done with my whole report except with my closing paragraph. I couldn't start it because Ms. Caroll has my closing paragraph. Today I made a rough draft of my Intro for my I-search. I always change my one of my IQ question to why is it it not diverse? my old one can't really be answered. It was also stupid. Anyways the sever mess up and didn't post my rough draft at first. I had to rewrite my rough draft and that really made me anger. Sever also started to lag.

 Today wasn't that bad day. The sever wasn't going pycho expect close to the end of class. It went down but I was able to still write in my journal. Today was very boring to me. We had to start over on his article because his old one is to long to do. Me and my partner finsh very very early. We just sat and talked. Today I was really upset that the sever was really slow!!!! I was really mad. I don't like working with slow things. But it finally speeded up and I got to find my article for my I-Search. I found three articles for my topic. I am glad for that atleast. It's all good for now.

Today I just found that I needed to do a page for notes on my topics. In Ms. Turnbull's Class I tried to find some on my two topics which are Import Cars and 50 Cent. There was no source for both of my topics. I was very mad. Also The sever for the internet was so freaking slow!!!!!!

So when I got home I decided to try my luck again and find some. I couldn't. So I decided change my I-search topic. I had change it to Christina Aguilera. I found more sources then my other two first ones. I was very glad to have my luck change.
