Introduction

Drugs are everywhere. Can you imagine how much people are using drugs, especially teens? Unstable people like teens turn to drugs a majority of the time. At this time of their life nothing is stable, friends, romance, and even families. Except drugs. After when you finish reading this acticle, that I Alina Tse wrote, you will learn more about why teens use drugs.

Why Do Most Teens Use Drugs?

Teens that don't know how to control their emotions will use drugs to help them control it. Then, as they get addicted, they will want more. If they don't get some, they will do everything they can to get it. Then, they won't care about anything. The only thing they will care about is the drugs that they need.

Teens are starting to use drugs because of an abuse problem. Some can handle the pressure, but some can't. Most teens do drugs beause of either family problems or problems that they have out in the world. They also use drugs to escape their problem that they have. Maybe, it's about love and relations that they made with other people. All of those problems can make a teen do drugs and hurt themselves. Some teens use drugs because of peer pressure, wanting to look older, or to be cool. They also use drugs to change their feelings. That's why teens are using drugs.

When teens use drugs, they will feel more depressed and will act hyper. They also use drugs to feel high and usually their grades will drop. Drugs can ruin their lives. Teens sometimes experiment with drugs because they see other people do it. They use drugs because they see people on TV use it and they think that it looks cool, but they don't know what kind of path drugs will lead them to. Then, if they experimented with the drugs, they'll ask for more.

How Do Drugs Affect Your Body?

When kids start using any types of drugs, it will stop their growth. Drugs can make your brain think unclearly and it can make you do dangerous things that can hurt you. Drugs can make school even harder for you and it can make you look sick. When you take drugs, even for only one time, it can damage your brain. Taking drugs will sometimes make you get into fights with your parents and teachers and other people. Even if it was your first time taking crack or cocaine , it can lead you to a heart attack. If you sniff glue or any other things like that, you can be blind forever.

Once they get use to taking drugs, they will get addicted and need it to function or else they will start sweating, vomiting, and shaking. They will continue this process until they get use to being without the drug.

What Are Drugs?

Medicine is a type of drug that doctor gives you when you are sick. They are made of out chemical that changes your body function. Medicine can be dangerous if you don't follow the instructions that is given.

Cigarettes and alcohol are a type of drugs too and they are legal. People who are 18 and over can buy cigarettes, but it is illegal for kids to buy them that are not 18 or older. People who are 21 and over can buy alcohol. Some drugs can be very dangerous all the time.

How Can You Tell If A Person Is Using Drugs?

I can tell if a person is using drugs my these signs:

They will stop going to school
They wouldn't hang out with their friends anymore (hangs out with kids who use drugs)
They will become negative, cranky, or worried all the time
They wouldn't want to go out anymore or play
They will always ask to be left alone a lot
They are always tired (maybe even sleep in class)
They will probably have many accidents
They will become involved in a lot of fights
They will change moods a lot
They have sudden changes in appearance (red or puffy eyes, weight changes, lots of headaches or stomachaches, shaking, coughing that won't quit, brown stains on fingertips, stumbling, or a constant runny nose)
They will probably lose interest in hobbies or sports
They have poor judgment
They can't concentrate

Why Do Teens Choose To Walk Into A Path That Will Affect Their Lives?

Teens choose to walk into a path that will affect their lives for many reasons. First, they don't know it will affect their lives. Second, they think it is normal to smoke. Third they don't know that it will affect their body. Fourth, they think that by taking drugs will make them look cool and help them fit in. Finally, they think drugs solve anything that is going through their minds.

Conclusion

Most teens are using drugs around the world. Doing this I-Search was hard, confusing, and stressful. At first, I didn't know anything about my topic, until I searched information about it. I learned a lot about my topic and I know much more than before. If I know anyone who abuse drugs or is using drugs I can use what I learned to help them. Finally, when I finished I was happy and proud of myself.

2-21-03

Today, I was looking for notes and information on my topic (teen-life). I went to SFPL and search for teen-life. There were a lot of books to chose, but there were mostly story about teens and didn't give me enough information on my topic. I didn't find enough information about my topic, but I still managed to find some more other information. So I went to Info Trac Kids Edition and type in "teen-life". Then, I tried to find more information, but there weren't any. So I type in teen-pregnancy and teen drug users and they give my a lot of information on it. I copy and paste it into my I-Search Notes.

2-27-03

Today, I cotinue searching for more notes on my topic (teen-life). When I went to SFPL the service wasn't working correctly. I can't get into to Kids Info Trac Edition to search for notes and was getting fustrated. I keep refreshing the page until it work and started to look for more notes on my topic. I found a new article for my topic.

3-6-03

Today, I was working with my partners. They helped me on my I-Search notes and I did everything that I was supposed to do and it worked out fine. I was reading my notes and wrote down the main points of my notes in red under each paragraph.

Today, I continue working with my partners doing the same thing as we did on March 6. Last time, I didn't finish writing my notes and typed in the main points on to my I-Search notes so I finish doing that today. After when I was done I was helping both of my partners at the same time. I went from one to another, helping them what they should type on there I-Search notes.

Today, I finish my first article with my partner. She helped me on it and told me the main points of it. Then I went to Info Trac Kids Edition to search for my second article on teen drug users. I found a lot of articles,but i only chose one of them. I copy and paste it into my I-Search notes. I was reading it and wrote the main points in my I-Search notes. I didn't get to finish my second article on teen drug users.

Today, I created a new story on a I-Search Checklist and I checked all the thing I did on my I-Search. I finish my 5 interesting question, I started my I-Search journal and write one everyday, and I'm on my second article. I continue working on my I-search notes and finishing my second article on teen drug user.

Today, I was working on my I-Search notes, but the server wasn't working. I was trying to get into the SFPL to look for more print sources, but I can't get in because the serve wasn't working. Since I can't get in I was continuing working on my I-Search notes.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search notes, but the serve wasn't working. I can't post changes my notes that I typed. I have to write it on a piece of paper and type it back in later. Then, I try to look for a internet sources, but I can't find any.

Today, I was working on my I-Seach notes and I was continuing looking for more internet sources. I went to google and type in teen drugs user and found alot of information on it. I pick an article, I copy and paste it into my I-Search notes. Then I post changes, but the serve wasn't working. I had to copy and paste in again and erase my other article. I have an article on teen drugs user on my I-Search notes, but its not enough information.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search notes. I was looking for more internet sources, but I didn't find any good articles. I worked on my I-Search notes and erase all the errors that was on my other article. I fix other errors on my all of my articles. I went to the website that I found my print sources and I copy and paste a picture onto my I-Search notes. The server wasn't working properly and can't get into sites. I also can't post changes.

Today, I was working on my I-Search. I was continuing working on my notes and looking for more internet sources. After that I was working on my bibliography. I copy and pasted all the information that was needed on the bibliography and I put it in the format that it was suppport to be in. I didn't have a chance to finish my bibliography.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search. I was finishing working on my bibliography and continue searching for more internet sources. I found more articles on teen drug users, but I didn't copy and paste it on my I-Search notes because I didn't have enough time. The serve was working properly and the computer was going so slow. It wouldn't even let me post changes the error that I made and I didn't get to finish what I need to do.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search. I was working on finding people to interview on my topic teen-pregnancy and teen drug users. I created a new story on I-Search interview and answer the question that we were support to. I found people to interview and they are Ms.Carroll's roommate and Ms.Carroll's classmate Ms. Kramer (student teacher). I can contract them by e-mail and they can give me information on my topic (teen-life).

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search. I created a new story on I-Search interview question. I went into my top ten I-Search IQ and copy and paste my I-Search interview question onto my I-Search interview question page. I finish my I-Search interview question and finish everything I needed to do. I continute working on my I-Search notes and I-Search Bibliography. I try to finish everything I need to do on my I-Search notes and on my I-Search Bibliography. I didn't get to finish my I-Search Bibliography.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search notes. Our teacher found a new format to do our I-Search Bibliography on. I was continuing working on my I-Search Bibliography and I had to change my bibliopgraphy in a different format because it was a better format. The serve wasn't working properly and I can't post changes the changes that I made on my I-Search bibliography. I didn't get to finish my I-Search Bibliography.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search notes. I created a new story on I-Search Report. I had to start writing my report and do my cover page,etc. I finish doing my cover page, table content, but I didn't start writing my report. I worked on something else. I continue working on my bibliography and I finally finish.

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search Report. I type in my first question and my other questions about my topic. I gather information in my notes to answer my first question. I need to get more information to answer my first question and my other questions. I didn't have time to finish answering my first question.

5-6-03

Today, I was continuing working on my I-Search. I was working on my I-Search Report. I was thinking how to write my introduction and how to make people reading my report by reading my introduction. I wrote my introduction and I didn't get to finish it. I will finished next time when I come in the lab.

Today, I continue working on my I-Search. I was finishing working on my introduction and I add more details onto it. I finish my introduction and worked on my notes. I copy and paste new information onto my I-Search Report. I answer some of my question with my new information.

Today, I continue working on my I-Search. I was working on my I-Search Report. I gather information and answer my third question. I finish my third question and going onto my fourth question. I gather information for my fourth question, but I didn' have time to finish. The serve wasn't work properly and it was loading so slow.

Today, I continue working on my I-Search. I was working on my I-Search Report. I was finishing up my I-Search Report so I can start on my I-Search Revision Conference with my parnter. I didn't get to finish my fourth question and my conclusion. I was also working on my I-Search Bibliography.

5-16-03

Today, I continue working on my I-Search. I was working on my I-Search Report. I was answering my last question, but I didn't get enough information on it. I only wrote a few sentence for my last question. I also found so images for my topic (teen-life).

5-19-03

Today, I continue working on my I-Search. I was working on my I-Search Report. I was writing my conclusion and I finished. I finish everything that I had to do and I am finish with my report. I did a revision conference with my parnter and I did her's. She finished my revision conference and I started on her's, but I didn't get to finish. I changed some stuff and added new ideas that my parnter told me.

Today, I was continuing working on the revision conference for my parnter. I finished her revision conference and added some idea for her. I started working on my I-Search and make sure if I had everything finished. My teacher proof read my I-Search and I changed the mistakes that are wrong. I changed most of them, but I didn't get to finished.
