Deep inside the town of Springfield, the Simpsons family enjoys their time inside their house. In each episode, one of the characters faces a problem which they need to solve. The characters got their sense of humor to bring along with them. The new episodes become more hilarious than ever. Also, one or more of the Simpsons characters come along and help that character. I felt doing a report on The Simpsons because of how the makers did a great job making episodes for The Simpsons. The makers combine their great skills bringing The Simpsons together. Each of the episodes has sense of humor that is never ending and soon enough, you will see how funny they really are.
Will The Simpsons have an ending? There might not be an ending. It will go on and on for a long time. The makers don't repeat stuff over again once they already have done it. Also, they don't repeat stuff shown on television. As Matt Groening says, he wants it to "go on", but he wants it "out on top".
Why do the characters wear the same clothes? The characters are always the same. They don't grow older and they wear the same clothes. Nothing will change them; they will always have the skin color yellow.
How did the makers make the episodes? First, the first episode they made was bad. It was said that The Flintstone did better than The Simpsons as they got their first episode out. Soon when they make more episodes, they became better and funnier.

What happened to the first episode? The first episode was shown on television on around January 1990. Two months have passed and it was rated as Nielson's top fifteen most watched shows, which was shown in America.
Is there any more information about The Simpsons family? The only information is that Homer is just 36, fat, bald, dumb, and mostly he gets mad. He works in the Nuclear Power Plant. Marge is the mother and she is Homer's wife. She's 34, takes care of the family, and she works around the house. Bart is just a bad boy that fails in school, gets into troubles, and he's just 10. His younger sister, Lisa, is a smart 8-year-old girl and she is the opposite of Bart. Instead of failing, she gets good grades in school and get into less troubles. Finally, there's Maggie. She is the 1-year-old baby that just sucks on her pacifier and is with the family.
Is Mr. Smithers gay? Producer David Silverman mentioned that Waylon Smithers is gay. Waylon Smithers was Mr. Burns's assistant and Karl was one of Homer's co-workers. He also said that Karl is gay too.

When did they first show The Simpsons on television? The first episode was shown on December 17, 1989, when it was a Christmas special. The episode was shown right after when The Tracey Ullman Show has finished.
Why does the skin color of the characters have to be color yellow? Former Director David Silverman explained that the colors of the characters have to be yellow because Bart, Lisa, and Maggie have no hairlines, so they have to be yellow.
How do the makers make the characters? James L. Brooks was in his office with his brilliant ideas, which was all about cartoon and animation. He wanted the Life In Hell to be on television, but Groening didn't want that, so then they got something new.

What does the "C" stand for in C.M. Burns? Mr. Burns was one of Springfield's richest men. He owns the Nuclear Power Plant and he has a son, Larry Burns. Once, he ran over Bart and it caused a real problem. He loved his ancient bear called Bobo, which was found by Bart Simpson from the Kwik-E-Mart. Bart passed the bear to Maggie and soon as Mr. Burns knew Maggie has his bear. Maggie gave him the bear as she was done with it. In bowling, there were the Pin Pals. Before bowling, he paid for the bowling, which he paid Poppin' Fresh. He was ill at that time and he didn't know that he paid Homer for the bowling. In his vision, he saw Homer as Poppin' Fresh. Soon enough, he joined the PiFn Pals and replaced Otto. As the Pin Pals won the bowling league, he kept the trophy for himself. He was also part of the Flying Hellfish from WWII. He was a private at that time, but no matter what, Charles Montgomery Burns will remain the same.

At first, I thought I would have enough information about The Simpsons when I watch episodes over and over again. When I did an I-Search about it, I got more information and learned many things. In the past, there were merchandises of The Simpsons. Schools have to ban them as the merchandises grew. Another thing was that the first episode was bad. I didn't know that it was bad, so I found out as I read through a print source about it. As a result, the process was hard and long, but part of it was easy. Since it was long, I managed to finish it without giving up. I wouldn't have to do more work as I finish my I-Search.

I-Seach Journal

2/25/03 Today, I have been searching some sources for my topic. It was hard to search for the sources I need for the topics I chose. When I look up "simpson", all I found are famous people with the name of "simpson". All I need was the source about the cartoon "The Simpsons". Looks like I'm going to find sources when I have time or at home.
2/27/03 The server was going down and sometimes it don't respond. When the server is online, I get to find some articles. I found two articles which is going to help me on my project. I just hope the two articles give enough information to help me finish with my easy project.
3/6/03 Today was tough. I forgot my log-in username, so I had to look for it so I can get in. When I get in, I had to read my article and try to remember some of the important parts. I only remembered a few facts because I had little time. When I remember some facts, I edit my article page and add the facts that I remember.
3/10/03 I was working on my article and I found out that I think there aren't enough information for my 5 I.Q. I'm going have to pay close attention to what I read in the article so I can find really important facts. In the second article, it mostly talked about Homer and how he got so famous.
3/11/03 I've been working on my second article. I found some answers to part of my I.Q. I already know some parts of the article because I watch their t.v. shows. In the article, it included the opening that showed on t.v. Every episode have different kinds of openings. The only changes were when the family gets on the couch to watch some t.v.
3/13/03 Today, I had to add a checklist to my I-Search Checklist. All I have to do is copy the checklist and paste it to my checklist. The server was going up and down. I had to copy my whole work in case if the work wasn't saved. When it fails, I go back and paste my work so I don't have to start over.
3/25/03 The server was going crazy! When i go to a site, I had to hit the refresh buttons and push F5 because of the annoying server. At least I finished my I-Search article and didn't lose any work that I have made. It wasa said that the server was doing ok during lunch, but afterwards the server was going bad.
3/26/03 I was editing my article and put most of the paragraphs I typed into my own words. The time went by so quicky that I pushed the "Post Changes" button and suddenly the server wasn't responding! When I click the "Back" button, I lost most of the work I did. It was a waste of time for me to do work and lose them all when the server went down!
3/28/03 I've been working on my I-Search notes and had to restate my retellings. The server was going well so there wasn't any problems at all. Looks like it wasn't really hard to retell of what I remember from a paragraph. I still have to work on some work that was on the checklist.
4/4/03 I was editing my notes and I managed to find some mistakes. I learned some new things from my mistakes. I also learned more about The Simpsons than I normally do. In the end, I finished editing my notes. Well, the server has never failed. I had chances to post my changes without any problems. The main thing is that I finished my notes.
4/8/03 I didn't get to write in the jounal for yesterday because I wasn't here. So anyways, the server was getting pretty annoying. It keeps going off and on, on and off. The good part was that I did most of the work done. I finished my notes, but I still need to work on my bibliography.
4/9/03 Earlier I was answering some interview questions about how to find someone that knows about The Simpsons more than I do. Also, I had to answer about finding a place that has information that will help me about my topic and answer my IQs. All I have to do now is to find a place that will give me useful information about The Simpsons.
4/23/03 I've been working on my interview questions to ask the person I'm going to interview. While I've been typing, I think of new interview questions. I just hope there are answers to my interview questions.
4/24/03 I was working on searching some bibliography for The Simpsons. I found some but many of them was the site for The Simpsons. I visited some sites that had trivia questions and there were answers for them. All I need to do is find someone to interview about my topic and get as many answers for my questions.
4/29/03 Earlier, I posted a new story about a review that show what stuff will be on the I-Search, like the table of contents, introduction, IQ's having answers, conclusion, and other important stuff. There can be a cover page which can have drawings on it about the topic.
4/30/03 The time has come. It was time to do the report and replace the IQ's in the report with the real IQ's that I have answered. I got to get more answers for the questions I have. I would also need to get my answers to be long enough to look great on my report. I hope my report will be good with all the questions and answers. On my report, I would need to be alert on making it interesting to read.
5/6/03 I've been working on my introduction and it was difficult to get an idea for my introduction. All I can ever think of was the Simpsons family being together in their house. I would still need to work on it and also think of a great introduction for my report to make it interesting. It's better getting my report interesting than dull and boring. I would also include details to support my introduction.
5/7/03 Grrrr, the server keeps crashing. Well, the best part was that I didn't lose any work. I checked my checklist, interview questions, report, and my notes. I added some things in them and corrected any errors that I detected. The most important work I need to finish is my interview questions. I would also need to add more information on the answered questions so the answer would be like real paragraphs instead of just one sentence.
5/12/03 Time's going and this I-Search is due next week. Looks like I have enough time to finish my report. I made a schedule for myself of when I should have time to work on my report. I've been editing my work and managed to find some weird errorrrs (Like this one). I didn't have to edit my whole work and use ip all the time.
5/15/03 I've been saved, hopefully. My teacher gave me info on Matt Groening where I can get a lot more information about The Simpsons. I just hope that the info on Matt Groening would give me enough information and even get to answer my hard to find questions. I learned new things about Matt as I read through documents about him.
5/16/03 "Woohoo," says Homer. It relates to me as I finish my report. Now, since I'm done with my report, all I have to do is do the Revision conference. Nothing else but to find someone else to revise with. I thought it would be long to find at least five answers to my questions, but I just finish without a problem.
5/19/03 Today is interesting for me. I seem to find more answers for my questions. I found out that I need more bibliography, which I only have two. I would need help to find the bibliography for my internet sources because I can't seem to find them on the sources. Also, I got to get my report revised by someone to finish my work.
5/21/03 I've been working on my report and adding new things in it. I get more information and get the answers to be longer than ever. I found out new things that I haven't found out before. Once, I had a problem when I post changes. The problem was that when I put my bibliography on my report and I posted the work, the bibliography seem to be at the wrong place. Instead of being on the report, it went to the sidebar and at the top of the page. Soon, I get to solve it. All I did was to delete the bibliography and pasted it again on my report.
5/23/03 Today, I was working on fixing my errors. As I was fixing my errors, I found other errors that haven't been detected. Luckily, I re-read my report and I was able to fix the errors I found. If I didn't re-read, I would miss the mistakes that haven't been found. I also got to edit my bibliography. I need to put the sources into the right format. Afterwards, I will be done with my report, completely.
5/28/03 Earlier, the server was going down. Some students couldn't get access through the internet. At least the computer I was working on had it's server flowing funtionally. So I was working on my survey. It reminded me of how I did my I-Search. Using weblogs really do help, even when we need to find more information about the topic we were working on. Also, I was reading through the report of my peers. When I read them, I learned new things that I haven't learned about.
