Introduction:

Meteor Showers were always a mystery to me. So I decided to find out more information about it. I can't even believe that I have found so much information. I was so fascinated about the information that I couldn't even believe that all this information was found but me. But I was curious about it. I hope that I can learn from this. So when you read this, you will be amazed by it.

How do meteor showers occur and what are meteor showers?

Meteor showers occur when the comets path and the earths path will intersect. A meteor shower is a streak of light or a shooting star. They are small meteoriods entering the Earth's atmoshere. A meteor is ice, or rocks that burns up.Meteor showers are produced by small fragments of comet debris that come into the Earth's atmoshere on a very high temperature and speed. When a comet goes by the sun it will become small particles and become meteoroids. The particles will come down to earth to form a meteor shower.

How many types of best meteor showers are there in the world?

There are 3 kinds of best meteor showers. They are the Perseids that occur around Aug. 12,the Orionids which occurs around Oct. 21 and the last one is Gemimids and it occurs around Dec. 13.The best way to look at meteors is in the middle of the night.

How can you know when the next shower is?

Meteor showers comes on certain days of the month. When they occur there dates are very close to the lasts showers in the years so, scientist know that when the next one will be or about to be.

How are the meteor showers named? How many types of meteor showers are there in all?

Meteor showers are named after the Horoscope. These are some examples. The Perseid meteor shower appears on August 12 and is seen as the constellation of Perseus and the Leonid meteor shower is on November 17 will be seen to a radiant of a Leo. There are 12 types of meteor showers in the world. One per each month.

How may beliefs are there that people think meteor showers are all kinds of stuff?

They are unknown because native Americans had some thoughts about it. Most likely every Native tribe had one. California believed that the meteors were sudden moves of the star in the sky and the North Central California believed that they were fire balls from heaven. There were many beliefs of the meteors.

Conclusion:

Before this project I didn't know anything about my topic. However now I am learning all about it. There are 12 kinds of meteor showers. One per each Horoscope. There are 3 best types of meteor showers. Seeing one is like a very special moment. So meteor showers are a fascinating thing. There is a saying that if you see a meteor shower and you make a wish, your wish will come true. So if you have a chance of seeing one just try it out and maybe you would get your wish.

Day 1

2/21/03: Today I looked up metero showers on the SFPL Catalog Database site. Then clicked database and scrolled down to Choose a database from the alphabetical list, then scrolled down to InfoTrac Kids. Typed in Meteor Showers and searched for good detailed printed sources. There I found lots of infomation that I needed. Then I copied the the infomation and saved it down to my notes.

Day 2

2/25/03: Today day I read through all the notes I had copied down from friday and took out some important facts and deleted the reapeated or non usesful facts.

Day 3

2/27/03: Yoday I went to the kids info trac site on SFPL and got another good information source. That information is a little challeneding because it comes from the Almanac and the text in there is very hard to understand with all those challenging words.

Day 4

3/6/03: Today I read my notes to Dominique and she was following along on my blog while I was rerading it. She gave me main points that I left out and also told me what I had the fix in my notes. So thats what I did today and I got through four paragraphs.

Day 5

3/7/03: Today I read my notes to Dominique and then I retold the paragragh in my own words. I got through about 5 paragreaphs today and learned a lot about my topic. She helped me check my spelling when I was done and helped me out if I missed any facts or if I had the wrong information in my retelling.

Day 6

3/10/03: Today I read my notes to Dominque and then I told her what I remember about the paragraph I just read. then I typed it into my story and post changes. The she read what i wrote and I asked her if I missed any main point and she would tell me and also correct my miss spelled words.

Day 7

3/11/03: Today me and Dominque finished up my articles and talked through it. She helped me correct my spelling, helpd me out with the main ideas of the paragragh and then told me if I missed anything I should purt into the paragraph.

Day 8

3/13/03: Today I made a I Search Journal and looked for Internet Print Sources. But I couldn't find any on yahoo, msn anf google. But I will try to find some on other sites.

Day 9

3/25/03: Today I searched the web for good internet sources but I couldn't find any because the server took too long. And I went to only yahoo again to find info but the server took a long time everytime I try to go to another site.

Day 10

3/26/03: Today I went to another site to find a good print source but I couldn't because the server had some problems again so it took a long time again so I couldn't find any.

Day 11

3/28/03: Today I showed Ms.Turnbull the infomation that that I already have. She looked at the notes, journal, IQ's, and my checklist. Then I went on my search for more Internet Print Sources.

Day 12

4/3/03: Today I found two Internet Print Sources and wrote in my checklist and wrote in my journal. But on the checklist I did not understand what I was suppose to do after I found my print sourses.

Day 13

4/7/03: Today I finished my Bibliography and got another print source. Then I reviewed my notes a little. Then I wrote in my journal that you are reading in.

Day 14

4/8/03: Today I made a new story called the I Search Interview Questions and when I was done with that I sat to think who should I interview for my research. But I couldnt of seem to think of one so pretty soon it was already time to go in all so I wrote in my journal and this is what I wrote today.

Day 15

4/9/03: I created a new story called the I search Interview too.Today I went to google to search for a place where I can find more information about meteor showers and I found that the exploratorium will be a good place to go interview someone.

Day 16

4/23/03:Today I made a new story called I search interview/ questions. It was really suppose to be I search interview but then my quesions are there so then I just put a slash there to make it two stories. Then I changed it.

Day17

4/24/03:Today I looked at the list of stuff my teacher put online about biblography stuff. Also today she asked me who was I gonna interview but I don't know yet in all so oh well. But I will try to go to the planetarium.

Day 18

5/6/03: Today I did an introduction and a closing for my report and filled in my report with all my IQ's and answers to them., well at least the most I can do myself. Now I don't have to do an interview so I have less work to do.

Day 19

5/8/03: Today I worked on my conclusion and found some pictures for my cover page. Added a line to my Bibliography. I got my pictures from goggle. Then I went to my checklist to fill out what i have done. Then when I finished it I went to my journal to write all this that you are reading.

Day 20

5/12/03: Today I did my table of contents but im still working on my title page. So far I only got my pictures for it. Im still working on it and ir should be done next time. Then I did my journal.

Day 21

5/15/03: Today I made a new story called I Search Revision. Then I pasted the revision form on it and filled it out the stuff I can. Then I didn't do anything else but stroll aroung on my page to see what I can fix around.

Day 22

5/16/03: Today I went to my page and clicked on my report link. Then I looked at it to see what I have to do to make it better. When I finished looking at it I waited for Bi Yin to finish her report so we can revise it. But shye still wasn't done. Then I wrote in my journal.

Day 23

5/19/03:Today I didn't really do much but edit some stuff on my report. Then I helped out a little with Bi Yin. Then I sat here to wait til shes done with her report so we can revise it together. Then I sat here writing my journal.

Day 24

5/20/03: Today I fixed up mu report page again and made it looking better than before. It is now ready to be revise. Then I waited for Bi Yin. I helped her to find infomation but I coundln't. So tomorrow I will do my revision confrence.

Day 25

5/21/03: Today I did my revision confrence with biyin and then I fixed the problems I had and now I am ready for my proofreading confrence. Then I came here to do my journal enty for the day.
