I-Search: Gathering Bibliography Information

I-Search: Gathering Bibliography Information as you find sources

Even though you're going to gather a lot more than just books as sources for your I-Search, you're still going to have to put information about every single source you use in the bibliography of your report.  And for every type of source there are rules for how you cite, or identify, them.  Today you're going to learn what information you should get about print sources and internet sources so you can easily write your bibliography.

Internet Sources:       - example

Today's first AIM is for you to check your I-Search Notes page to make sure that you have enough information to cite your sources.  If you don't have the right information, go back to your original source and copy it into your I-Search Notes.

Today's lesson steps are:

  1. Create a new screen so you can work on another screen while you read these instructions.
  2. Log into the 8th grade site.
  3. Click into your name page, and then into your I-Search Notes.
  4. Check your notes to make sure that every source you copied has the appropriate bibliography information and all of the text you used.
  5. If you didn't include enough bibliography information, or the text isn't copied correctly, go back to the original source and copy and paste the right things into your I-Search Notes.
  6. Post Changes regularly to avoid lost work!
