I-Search: Prewriting 1
I-Search: Writing Your Report - Prewriting
Have you finished finding your sources, reading them, and taking notes on them? Do you have an interview or visit to a place you can learn more about your topic planned? If so, you're ready to start a rough draft of your I-Search Report.
The first thing you need to know about your I-Search Report is how it should be organized. Here is the basic structure of your I-Search Report: I-Search Report Map. Every part of the map will need to be filled in with your information, visual aids, and other components.
The AIM for today's lesson is for you to create a story called I-Search Report and link it to your name page. Then, you will go to the I-Search Map, copy all of its contents into your new story, and post the changes. Then you will have your own version of the I-Search Report Map to begin filling in.
Here are today's lesson steps:
- Create a new screen so you can read these directions and work on another screen.
- Log into the 8th grade site and click into your name page.
- Create a story called I-Search Report and link it to your name page. (If you're not sure about this, click here to review the process: Create and link a story)
- Get into editing mode in your I-Search Report story, then go back to these directions.
- Click on this link: I-Search Report Map and copy and paste all the text in it into your new document.
- If you have time, begin filling in some of the information in your I-Search Report.
- Post your work regularly to avoid losing work
